Paper wireframes:

The goal was to create a visual design that is simple and intuitive, allowing users to easily navigate the interface and quickly access the features they need. This will aid in reducing user frustration and increase efficiency by providing a clear and streamlined user experience.

Low-fi wireframes:

Providing easy and rapid access to essential inventory information directly from the dashboard was identified as a critical factor in helping users save time and streamline their workflow.

Low-fi wireframes: feature

The purpose behind the creation of the "Bookmarks" page was to provide users with a platform to record notes related to their inventory and highlight significant ones. This feature aims to enhance the work efficiency of the user by ensuring that they remain focused on their business tasks.

I conducted two rounds of usability studies to gather insights on the needs of home business owners. The first round enabled me to comprehend the essential requirement, which was effective time management integrated with inventory management. The second round of testing allowed me to further refine this idea and optimize it according to the feedback received.

Low-fi to High-fi Prototype

Initially, the early designs were centered around emphasizing the inventory stock. However, following the usability studies, I made some changes to the dashboard to prioritize the business tasks associated with the inventory. This alteration helped to refine the concept and resulted in the development of an application that aims to assist users in saving time by creating a structured task system that is easy to manage alongside their daily tasks. This application's primary goal is to enable business owners to establish healthy planning habits that allow them to focus on scaling their business.

Usability study - Themes

Through the process of usability testing, I was able to analyze the collected data and derive valuable insights. I structured the key observations from my target audience and utilized an affinity diagram to identify recurring patterns and themes. This allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the areas that required improvement.

During the second round of usability testing, it became apparent that the target users displayed a greater inclination towards visual calendars and charts as they facilitated a quick overview of the information. This testing also highlighted that users could utilize this feature to remember the tasks that needed to be accomplished throughout the month, aiding them in planning their activities outside of work.

Key Mockups - Creating tasks feature

BoxStox - Daily multitask ANIMATION.gif

Users are able to toggle between a visual calendar and charts for a quick overview of the information.

BoxStox Add task feature.gif

Users are able to add daily tasks for items, selecting the due date, time, priority, and color code. This will connect to their task progress and calender to easily keep track of inventory and assist with managing their goals.
